Botox

DESCRYPTION :

The use of botulinum toxin in cosmetic procedures has a 20-year history. It was initially used in the correction of specific anatomic areas, i.e. horizontal forehead creases, wrinkles between the eyebrows, so-called "crow's feet". We currently do not inject the toxin into specific areas; for optimal effects, we create a plan involving injections to the entire face region.

Contraindications to botulinum toxin use :

Diseases causing muscle weakness (i.e. Myasthenia gravis) or motor neuron diseases.
Allergy to any ingredient of the injection.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Inflammatory processes in the areas of planned injections.
Coagulopathies.

The patient should not use any preparations affecting blood clotting (i.e. salicylates such as aspirin, vitamin E, non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs) for 7 days before the procedure.
Dosing is individual and depends on the patient's gender, anatomic area, skin thickness, and muscle mass. The injections are given intramuscularly, except in the areas of the eyes and lips where they are given subcutaneously.

INDICATION  FOR  THE  USE OF BOTULINUM  TOXIN:

rinkles between the eyebrows.
Horizontal forehead wrinkles.
Wrinkles inthe outer corners of the eyes ("crow's feet").
Symmetrically radiating wrinkles from the edges of the nose.
Redness of the skin on the nose.
Wrinkles around the mouth.
Wrinkles leading from the cheeks to the chin.
Elimination of 'orange peel' look on the chin and neck.
Wrinkles of the neck ('necklace wrinkle', 'old age' wrinkles)
Removal of visible lines of the platysma muscles of the neck.

Botulinum toxin is a safe and effective medication when it is used according to the manufacturer's directions, both with regards to the dose and the manner of delivery.
A good cosmetic effect is unfortunately temporary, and future treatments are required in 6-12 months. The final effect depends greatly on the experience of the treating doctor.
